St. John's New Mission Daycare is a non-profit organization licensed by the State of North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Child Development. Our Four-Star Daycare is located at 2121 Edgewood Avenue in Burlington. Our Daycare is supervised by a Director who, together with St John’s New Mission Daycare Committee, makes decisions to ensure an exceptional and positive experience for you and your child.
St John’s New Mission Daycare strives to meet the wide range of spiritual, physical, emotional, social, and
intellectual needs of each child within the framework of a protective and loving environment. Our prime purpose
is to provide a warm, accepting climate in which each child is encouraged to reach their own potential through a
balance of self-directed and teacher-directed activities.
Our Daycare provides:
- A bright, stimulating environment designed to accommodate a variety of activities.
- A wide range of interesting equipment, toys, and materials geared to specific developmental stages and needs of children.
- A well-planned curriculum.
- A range of supportive services meeting the spiritual, social, psychological, and nutritional needs of growing children and their families.
- An experienced, competent staff trained in child development and deployed in such a manner, which encourages continuing child-adult interaction.
Our program is geared to meet the needs of families by offering a Christian-based Daycare program for children ages 6 weeks through 5th grade and summer day camp for school aged children through the 5th grade.
We are open Monday through Friday at 7:15 AM until 5:45 PM. Our director maintains a waiting list as needed for each of the classes.
We recognize that children learn best by doing and exploring. Our Daycare Center is designed to stimulate such
learning in a safe and healthy environment with a loving and positive staff that is continually trained.
Nutrition and cleanliness are taught as an important part of keeping their little bodies healthy. Physical activity is an important part of each day. Weather permitting we play outside everyday.
The children learn age appropriate tangible skills as well as social skills needed to become compassionate and well balanced members of our world. Manners, kindness, and being fair and tolerant are tools that will help them to be successful when they move from the daycare environment into school.
Each classroom and even the playgrounds are designed as a perfect fit for their particular age with size appropriate furniture and toys. This comfortable setting allows your children to independently and confidently explore the world around them.
